Steven McClain
Age: 48 Years of Karate: 1st year returning after 20 years away
Reason For Karate: To build up myself physically. Karate for me is also very spiritual.
Favorite Technique: I enjoy all of the kicks, holds, and throws
Competition Form(s): Taikyo Sandan
Competition Weapon: Taikyo Shodan with Bo Staff, I would like to learn the sword Kata.
Additional Comments: After 20 years of being out of Martial Arts I am honored to be allowed to learn Shotokan from Master Scott Rutter. I hope to earn at least my black belt and to one day teach karate along side my children and Master Rutter.
Additional Comments: I bought my son and daughter to learn Shotokan and then later when I was physically able to attend classes I began again. I saw Master Rutter and his late father, the Late Grand Master Rutter, and they way that they taught the art of Shotokan from the aspect that karate was more than just a sport or a belt rank. They teach that karate is an awareness and strengthening of ones self, mind, body and spirit. It is truly an honor to learn from an instructor that is both gifted in martial arts and cares for his students as if they were his own family.
